RF_HVPS

Objective

A memo (EDMS#1405168) is describing the present situation of the RF power amplifiers in different machines, the present situation of the responsibility for High Voltage Power Supplies (HVPS), a proposal to move progressively these HVPS to TE-EPC and new powering requests for RF projects.

The agreement states that TE-EPC should be in charge of the HVPS powering the RF power amplifiers for custom/special power supplies but not for off-the-shelf power supplies (commercial power supplies).

The equipment covered by this agreement and the transfer to section TE-EPC-MPC are:
               o SPS-200,
               o SPS-LIU-200,
               o LHC and SPS dampers,

The global purpose of this project is to:
               o Define the most suitable strategy for the transfer of the HVPS and in particular separate the RF control from the HVPS control,                
               o Propose a consolidation program for the SPS-200 HVPS,
               o Provide a technical support for the follow-up of the tender “Transmitters of the new power amplifier for the SPS 200 MHz RF system”,
               o Propose and draft technical, financial proposals documenting the global strategy,
               o Ensure the effective reception, integration and commissioning of the HVPS within the TE-EPC environment,
